Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.

Welcome to Tsuchiya Hotel. This Modern Ryokan, located in central Nagoya, has two buildings, the honkan and the shinkan (Ichi-tei). There are 22 rooms (16 Japanese style, 4 Japanese-Western style, 2 Western style) in the honkan, 12 of which have private baths and toilets and 10 of which have neither private baths nor toilets. As for the shinkan, there are 6 Japanese style rooms with private baths and toilets. Two baths are available at Tsuchiya Hotel, one for women and one for men (the women's bath also has a small outdoor portion). Traditional Japanese cuisine is served to guests. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out is before 10:00. Parking is available for 1,200 yen per night.
