There are indoor hot spring baths for both women and men (same gender only). Traditional, local Japanese cuisine is served to the guests at Showakan. Parking is available.

  We were so happy that we could get at least one night stay at Ginzan Onsen. The hotel was great with spacious room and friendly staffs. And the food was fantastic too. We love the view at the balcony. I would very much recommend this hotel when you visit Ginzan Onsen.

  Our family of 4 have been looking forward to this part of our 3 week trip for ages, and it didn't disappoint. Choosing and booking the Ryokan was very straightforward and helpful through the website, with questions answered very promptly and comprehensively. Showakan was our choice as it was one of the cheaper Ryokan's that was directly in the middle of Gizan onsen, but we certainly didn't feel like it was the 'cheap' option! Incredibly helpful staff who, despite limited English, did everything that could for us politely and graciously, and helped a family of Ryokan newbies understand the process and how to enjoy our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable with our own air conditioning which was much appreciated. The onsen was better than we expected (photos don't do it justice) with a great view of the town (if you don't mind standing naked in front of the window :) ) and even the gender seperated, smaller onsens were very nice also, so you've always got a good choice even when the big onsen changes from male to female or vice versa. NIce sitting areas on the upper floors if you wanted to escape your room and sit and read, or just look. Food was a highlight, and just kept on coming. Huge variety, beautifully prepared, and we tried our best to finish everything (but were defeated!). The timings are strict, but worth it as after your meal it does give you plenty of time to join everyone else in a post-dinner stroll in your yukata around town, which is definitely worth it. And little details like parking and luggage were well looked after. Parking is slightly out of town but the staff happily shuttle you back and forth, and even let us stay parked there for a couple of hours after check out while we walked a bit to check out the nearby silver mines. Definitely recommended. Ryokan's of this caliber aren't 'cheap', but for what you get and the experience you'll have, they're well worth it.

  The room is clean, the people are friendly and kind. The meals were extremely great! There are free shuttle service back and forth. They do speak simple English which is enough to understand. Highly recommended to stay, seriously try it out for an experience.

  We stayed one night. The staff at the ryokan provided 4 star service. They came out to greet us, take our luggages and welcomed us in. The room was spacious and clean. Dinner was a great experience. Our host explained the food as they come (in Japanese which we really didn’t understand. Haha) and the food keeps coming and coming. Booking the ryokan via this site was very easy. The conceirge answered all my questions and even liaise with ryokan to cater to my needs. Impressed.

  We stayed at Showakan for 1 night and it was impressive. The room was clean. The staffs were very helpful and friendly. They provided 2 meals during the stay, dinner and breakfast, which were traditional japanese meals. There were free pickup service and drop off at JR Oishida station for guests getting there by trains.

  I stayed with my boyfriend for 1 night. I think this ryokan is very nice & warmed welcome and they are very kind although we can use a little bit of Japanese language. About room, I'm in love with it because it's very convenient such as yukata, tv, toilet room. Moreover, onsen of this ryokan is very nice. For meal, both of dinner and breakfast meal are very good. Unfortunately that some vegetable I cannot eat, so if I can eat vegetable I think it's the best.
