We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ryokan Kurashiki. On our journey to Kurashiki I was seriously questioning why I was dragging the family to Kurashiki for just one night but I was so glad we went. The beautiful Bikan area of Kurashiki is small enough to explore in one day, with lots of things to see. The ryokan itself is delightful. Our room was very comfortable, the dinner was an absolute highlight of our trip and we really appreciated the little touches and details that made our stay even more special. Highly recommend.

We arrived in Ryokan Kurashiki to start our time in Japan after delay caused by typhoon. This was our first real stop and it was our favourite place on this visit to Japan. The staff were friendly and welcoming, our room beautifully turned out, the bath lovely but best of all the dinners. We had 2 nights of Autumn themed dinners and the food was very good - great flavours and presentation accompanied by local sake served chilled.

We spent one night at this ryokan and could not find fault. The staff were delightful with good English, the food was superb and the bed was comfortable. Ryokan Kurashiki is in the centre of the picturesque canal district and well worth a visit. They gave us complimentary tickets to the O'Hara Museum of art which was fantastic.
