We recently stayed here on our trip to Japan and really enjoyed it. We arrived by train but, since we didn't know what time we would be getting there, were not able to take advantage of their shuttle service, but we had no trouble finding it and it was a relatively short walk from the station. This is a much fancier and more up-scale ryokan than others we stayed at. We were provided with tea and sweets while registering (which was quite quick and efficient) and then went to our room. It was actually fairly large with a private bathroom and a separate sitting area with chairs (so that we did not have to sit on the floor all the time). The mats and bedding provided for sleeping were quite comfortable. The supper (included in the price) was quite good. We didn't recognize a lot of the foods that were served to us but, fortunately, our waitress spoke excellent English and so was able to answer all our questions. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. We were given a ticket to take to the bar downstairs for a tasty dessert. We both tried the onsen (I think that is the correct term for the hot Japanese baths) in the evening and enjoyed them (although I found the temperature in the Men's to be somewhat hotter than I like!) The breakfast (also included in the price) the next morning was also very good. It was a set menu at our table and again, we needed help in identifying a lot of the items, but there was also a large selection of fruit, yogurts and croissants if you wanted something more familiar. There was also a selection of coffee, tea and juices. You should also be aware that the ryokans typically do not have television in the room so be prepared to go out to find something to do if you do not enjoy reading. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would certainly come back.
