We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The room was huge and we had an outdoor private hot springs bath which was incredible. The kaiseki meals were exquisitely prepared and very beautiful and it was lovely to receive them in our room, and breakfast too! It was very fun to stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan. The staff were lovely and very attentive, English was not really a problem either. The only downside was that we thought the hotel was an easy walk from the Hakone Yumato station, but turned up to be up a big hill - once we learned there was a shuttle bus direct to the hotel for only 100 yen we could have kicked ourselves!
