By train from Tokyo: it takes 1,5 hours by Shinkansen (bullet train) to Nagano. From Nagano to Hakuba: go to the East exit and find the bus stop number 6. The bus bound for Hakuba leaves roughly every hour from 8:20 to 20:30 and costs about 1,500 yen. The last bus to Hakuba leaves the Nagano train station at 20:30 – there is no public transport options after this time. From the JR Hakuba train station there is pick up service available.
