Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
From the Kochi train station, please take the tram to the Harimaya-bashi tram stop. Then take another tram to the Kochi Prefectural offices tram stop. Then it is a 3 minute walk to the Sansuien. From the Kochi train station it is a 10 minute taxi ride.
