Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
To reach Kishigon Ryokan you have 2 options: From JR Shibukawa Station, please take a bus (no reservation required) to Ikaho Onsen bus stop. It's operated by Kanetsu Kotsu Bus, and it takes about 20 minutes. From Shinjuku in Tokyo; from the Busta Shinjuku (bus terminal), please take the Express bus (reservations are required) to Ikaho Ishidangai bus stop. It's a 2 and a half hour ride. It's operated by JR Bus Kanto. From either bus stops, it's a 7 to 10 minute walk.
