Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.

Four buses per day (one bus about every three hours) run from Kinugawa Onsen Station to Meotobuchi Onsen (女夫渕温泉, 95 minutes, 1540 yen one way).
The bus leaves Kinugawa Onsen Station at 07: 35, 10:15, 13:25 or 15:50.
From Meotobuchi Onsen bus stop the ryokan can pick you up at 12:00 or 15:00 or 17:30.
If you go there by car only the onsen’s vehicles are allowed on the road past the Meotobuchi stop. Please park your car near Meotobuchi stop and then use the pick up service (at 12:00 or 15:00 or 17:30).
