It is a 2 hour train ride on the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo to Nagoya. At Nagoya, change trains and take the Tokyu Express train on the Takayama Honsen Rail Line to Gero train station. It is a 2 hour ride from Nagoya to Gero. It is a 3 minute taxi ride from Gero Onsen train station to Izumiso.
