Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
Take the Shimatetsu bus from JR Isahaya station bound for either "Unzen" or "Shimabara Ekimae" Buses generally leaves JR Isahaya station at 13:50, 14:50 or 16:00. Please get off the bus at "Obama bus stop", it takes 60 minutes ride. From Obama bus stop, it takes 5 minutes walk to Iseya Ryokan
