Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
From Hiroshima, it is about 25 minutes by Shinkansen Bullet Train to JR Fukuyama station. From JR Fukuyama station, there is a pick up service. Reservations are required. Pick up service is available at 12:00, 14:40 and 16:10. Drop off service is available at 9:00, 10:10, 11:20 am. If you come by car, please use the parking of Hotel Ofutei.
