Yatsusan Ryokan

Location: Furukawa Onsen (20 minute train ride north of Takayama), Gifu Prefecture

Welcome to Yatsusan Ryokan. This Traditional Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) is a very old ryokan built over 140 years ago during the Edo Period in Japan. The owners have worked hard over the years to maintain the Edo-style look of the buildings as much as possible. There are 3 main buildings at Yatsusan Ryokan - the Honkan, the Bekkan, and the Kangetsusou (a new building). There are 24 traditional Japanese-style rooms at Yatsusan Ryokan, and each room is designed differently to maintain the ryokan's uniqueness. There are also both indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, and they are wonderful (same sex only). Traditional Japanese cuisine is served to the guests. Please Note: This ryokan is not located in Takayama.

Directions: It is a 3 minute taxi ride from JR Hida Furukawa train station to Yatsusan Ryokan. JR Hida Furukawa train station is a 20 minute train ride north of JR Takayama train station. It is a 7 minute walk from JR Hida Furukawa train station to Yatsusan Ryokan. A pick-up service is also available upon request .
