The location is the only good point being within walking distance to the temples and access to bus stop for touring and a family of monkeys lives near there. It is very expensive for moderate quality food and poor facility conditions. There were a lot of insects in the room, bathroom, and hallways. The rooms need work due to holes in the paper doors and stains on the walls. The bath did not feel like a hot spring.

Host was pretty cool, made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. There were a couple others staying and they were nice to talk to (english yay!), and was an all round fun stay. Bedding was perfect. Awesome location, river just outside but didn't see too many stars but it was a full moon.

I was there with my girlfriend for one night in August. The atmosphere was delightful together with the room and the traditional dinner. The corridors didn't seemed in good conditions but all the rest was beautiful. The onsen is so clean and I have to thanks this ryokan for the wonderful time spent there.

We loved staying in the room and the service. It was a lovely experience! Unfortunately the corridors were in a bad condition and gave the wrong impression before entering the room. It is very sad, since the room was fantastic and the onsen was great. There was no other guests when we were there.
