Welcome to Hanaikada. It is located in Arashiyama Kyoto which is at the edge of the city, a perfect location to be close to enjoy beautiful mountain while still being close enough to the city to visit many locations. The ryokan has 13 rooms including one with an outdoor hot spring bath and one with an indoor hot spring bath. The rest of the rooms come with a private bathroom. It has 3 large shared baths and one reserved outdoor bath. The cuisine here is a Kyoto Kaiseki with a mix of fresh seasonal seafood for dinner. For breakfast you have your choice of fish that they will cook right in front of you.

    Well this was a one night treat to ourselves during our trip to Japan. One word..... amazing! The place, the service, the atmosphere, everything, amazing. If you have never done this type of a stay while in Japan it is a must do. Living in the traditional way was a great learning experience and the bath experience was second to none. I scored the food a "4" only because of the language barrier more description and instruction was hard to come by....but shame on me for not know Japanese ;-) Thank you from both of us for a wonderful experience!
