Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.

Welcome to Yumoto Choza. This ryokan is located in Fukuji Onsen. This high class, has 32 Japanese-style rooms and 17 of the rooms even have their own Japanese irori (Japanese-style hearth). The special rooms at Yumoto Choza have their own Japanese cypress baths as well (however, no hot spring water is available). Inside Yumoto Choza there is a small art gallery and a beautiful lobby with traditional Japanese woodwork. There are indoor and outdoor hot spring baths available to both women and men (same gender only), and the baths are open 24 hours a day. There are also outdoor hot spring baths that can be privately reserved. Traditional Japanese robata (open-air grilled) cuisine is served. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Parking is available.
