Welcome to Shirakawa-go No Yu. This Modern Ryokan is located in the Shirakawa go village. Shirakawa go No Yu is the only ryokan with hot spring baths in the Shirakawa-go village. Please note that this is Not a Gassho Zukuri farmhouse. Shirakawa go No Yu offers nine guests rooms and two of those rooms have a private bath and toilet. From your room you can enjoy views on the mountains or river. Shirakawa go No Yu serves fresh, seasonal vegetables, beef, river fish throughout the year.

Snow Warning: There is a lot of snow in Shirakawa-go in January and February so please bring a pair of snow boots. Shirakawa-go can get up to 2 meters (over 6 feet) of snow in February.

  The location is nearest a bus stop you can walk a few minutes. You can check in around 2 pm. We booking 2 rooms. One are included bathroom and without bathroom. The room included bathroom have a best view of river. If you booking a room without bathroom you can take a bath in Onsen only. An outdoor Onsen is very great view.   Shirakawa-Ko No Yu was an above average place to stay in town. Simple yet cozy traditional Ryokan after all luxury place doesn't suit the overall environment of the town.The Facility here is in good condition and convenient, food is delicious and they all selling different kind of item at the lobby. As for the room you might want to choose the one facing the side of the river for a better scenery. Onsen is ok but no scenery as it was blocked. Overall, it was a good experience.

  We had a great time in Shirakawago no yu. The place are so clean and neat. I got a room with river view and it was so beautiful. The food were so delicious and really japanese taste. The staffs were also very nice. I tried the Onsen too. So cool. Overall it was a very great experience. Would love to stay here again if i visit shirakawago again.

  Me and my friend planned the overnight trip to Shirakawago in winter. We booked the hotel 3months advance from our trip date. Though the place is not a traditional Gossho (munshiki) house but we still can experience the traditional touch in the hotel. The location is the nearest one from the bus station (just across the street). There is no private bath room thus we must use the public bath on the first floor (which also open for public but the hotel guest can use 1 hour earlier before it opens to public from 6-7am and 1 hour before its close from 9-10pm). We stayed at the tatami room for 2 person and it has moderm touch because it provides tv, water boiler, aircon, and air purifier. We enjoy the dinner and the breakfast the most. They provide beef (i suppose it is hida beef?) as the main dish for dinner.

  Staying there was a delight!! We went to another inn, similarly in Japan, but compared to this one, the service was definitely not as good. On our stay there, the staff helped us carrying our heavy luggages up the stairs and were very friendly whenever we needed help. For anyone who thinks it’s a bit too pricey, the meals were also very delicious and worth the price. It was quite filling and was a soothing ending to a tiring day of walking around Shirakawa-go. The futons were comfortable and the bath and toilet were equally nice and clean as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone going there.

  It was an amazing experience. The room was japan style with tatami and futon, clean and comfortable. I loved the hotspring with mountain view. It was cleanig and confortable. The dinner and the breackfast had a variety of traditional delightful dishes. The staff is helpful and nice. I recomand this place for everyone!

  It was very nice to be able to just walk across the street to the hotel, and the staff was extremely friendly. The view from the onsen was so relaxing! The dinner was fantastic as well! Definitely worth the price.

  Shirakawago no you is a comfortable place, where you can have an amazing experience. The traditional style of a Japanese room, the onsen that you can use and all the needs that you also need nowadays (air conditioners, television). The food was awesome and really good. The dinner and the breakfast are well-served.

  Originally I was hoping for a stay at a traditional ryokan, but this didn't disappoint at all! Upon entering, it already had a traditional feel to it at the expense of modern comfort (i.e. massage chairs at the back, vending machines etc.) Definitely give their onsens a try! Maybe even multiple times a day! They provide towels, soap, shampoo and an extremely relaxing bath. Don't forget your 100 yen coin for the lockers! And don't forget to try out the outdoor onsen with the cold winter air to balance out the warm water. The onsen facilities have a gender swap between two rooms twice a week, don't go into the wrong one! ^^" Dinner was fantastic! For a 2-day stay, you get different dinner options per night (beef/meat based on night 1, seafood on night 2). Our rooms were so clean and they lay out the futons for you while dinner gets started! Breakfast (which also changes if you're there for more than one day!) was available at either 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning - the 7:30 breakfast gave us enough time for an 8:50 bus out of Shirakawa. I'd definitely want to reserve this place again (do so early, they book fast!!). Special thanks to the jolly guy in the grey sweater at the counter (he gets along with you if you can speak even a little Japanese!).

  I stayed at this Ryokan in Apr 17 during spring and I came back with my family during winter. This is modern Ryokan decorated with traditional style. We love the dinner, breakfast and Onsen. Our room has window, we could enjoy the scenery outside, houses covered with snow it was so beautiful. We had an unforgettable experience staying here. Highly recommended.

  The ryokan is located very close to the bus station (there is no train into Shirakawa) - 2 min walk. The two prepared meals were excellent. Service is very good. Our room was small and very basic but more than adequate for 2 people. The onsen is really nice with the outdoor section overlooking the river. Facilities were clean.

  Shirakawago no Yu is a stylish ryokan. It is a little expensive but it comes with a very lovely dinner featuring Hida Beef and some dishes quite unique to the area, that would be quite expensive elsewhere, so it made the price quite worth it, especially also for the Hot Spring. It comes with a very nice traditional Japanese breakfast too. The room for 4 is very large and the next morning we had snow so it made it more memorable for us. It was the first time my wife and children saw snow. All and all, a lovely experience.

  Not a traditional ryokan. We had a room facing the road so view was not great. The room is basic with no water provided. Water has to be purchased. There is no attached bathroom/toilet and the common toilet is not very clean. Meals were satisfactory. Spread for dinner was good but breakfast was average. External onsen has no view.

  We had no problem driving in the restricted area to the Ryokan. The reception staff is a bit "stiff", but helpful. However, don't expect them to be flexibel - we had to leave early in the morning, and when we asked the night before it was not possible to get breakfast 30 minutes earlier. So we left without breakfast. Japanese dinner was simply beautiful und very tasty with a great variety of dishes. We were 3 persons and booked a Japanese style room, which was spacious with nice view on the river. The Onsen is well looked after - everything perfect.

  Everything was good there. The Facility is in good condition and the room is quite new. Before I go, I was worried if smoking smell in room but actually I found they are all non smoking room. Lucky! I've been there with family. My parents, they are elderly. they can't sit on the floor having meal as Japanese Style. Then, staffs provided us 2 small chairs for my parents. Thank you. We have a good time and nice remembrance there and we all want go there again someday.

  Shirakawago No Yu is the only ryokan located in Shirakawago. The view from our room is the river and the mountain. The overall environment is serene and it is a peace of mind staying here.   The No Yu is situated in a delightful mountain coast and if you are lucky you can have a room with a beatiful view of the river and the clifs. If you book an eastern room, even better. The room is big, clean and comfortable. But a No Yu is far from a peacefulland charming place to enjoy the quietness of a solitude old village of Shirakawa Go. The hotel is too big. When I was there, there wer drunk people going up and down the corridors and the frontdesk finding it funny. At the big leaving room, our lounge there are two automatic massage armchair. But to use them, you have to insert coins as if you are in an airport or public place. The food was good but the restaurant has a lack of ambience. The onsen has an amazing ofuro outside with the river view.

  Nice sized room with tatami floor and futon are set up for sleeping only when you are having an incredibly amazing Japanese dinner. After dinner enjoy your tea in your room and then head into the Publich Bath (Onsen) in the hotel. It is not big but some part of the Hot Spring is outside and quite relaxing. Traditional breakfast also included in the morning and extremely helpful staff.

  Shirakawago no yu is a modern ryokan with traditional decoration. it recommended by my friend who have stayed in this hotel in winter. My friend told me that the food taste is very good and room price is not high. So i planned to stayed there for 1 night. They have a free parking but the ryokan is located in the Restricted Area, only authorized car or guest can drive in the Restricted Area. So you better prepare a Japanese Booking Voucher and show to the police. then he will let you drive to the Ryokan. The room price is included dinner and breakfast (1泊2食), actually there are no restaurant nearby, you better eat in your japanese inn or ryokan especially in autumn / winter (the tempeature in 7 Nov is only 4 C in the evening). Taste is very good and it's traiditonal japanese style. You better change and wear the provided Yukata (bathrobe) before dining becasue will have a beef BBQ indoor, the bbq smell is strong. we stay in 6 tatamis room, it's enough for 2 persons, the decoration is old but all clean. no private bathroom and toilet, they have public shower and hotspring in the ground floor, have men and women. a bit noisy in the early morning (around 6am) but acceptable, we all know that those ppl stayed in shirakawa want to take a good picture in the early morning. In my opinion, this is the best accomodation in shirakawa, there are only 4 Ryokans in this place, the others are japanese inn.

  At first my option was for a traditional ryokan, but there were no one available. So they offered Shirakawago-no Yu, a modern ryokan. I was a little bit disappointed in the beginning, but it was perfect. Excellent food, good bedroom, great onsen. I recommend. Hope to be able to be there again soon. It was a wonderful time.
