Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.

Welcome to Onouenoyu. This Traditional Ryokan has been in business since the Taisho Period (early 20th century). Onouenoyu is a two story building built in the traditional Japanese style of a Nagano hot spring ryokan . All of the 14 guest rooms are Japanese-style and have a private toilet but only two have a private bath. There are two shared hot spring baths, one for women and one for men (same gender only). Onouenoyu serves local cuisine such as fresh vegetables and river fish. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Parking is also available.
