Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.

Welcome to the Okunikko Konishi Hotel. This is an older Ryokan Hotel with 44 mainly Japanese-Western style rooms (Western-style twin beds, no Japanese futons). All guest rooms at the Okunikko Konishi Hotel have their own private bath and toilet. There are indoor and outdoor hot spring baths for both women and men (same gender only). The indoor hot spring baths are located on the 1st floor, and they hold up to 20 bathers each. The outdoor hot spring baths are made of rock and bathers have a view of the Okunikko Konishi Hotel's surrounding forest. The women's bath holds up to 10 bathers and the men's bath holds up to 20 bathers. All baths are open from 13:00 until 22:00. Fresh, seasonal Japanese-style cuisine is served to the guests in the dining room at the Okunikko Konishi Hotel. Breakfast is buffet-style. Check-in time is after 14:30 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Parking is available. Warning: There is also a Konishi Ryokan which is a different ryokan. Please go to the Okunikko Konishi Hotel.
