Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.

Welcome to the Kamikochi Lemeiesta Hotel. This Ryokan Hotel is open from April to early November. The Kamikochi Lemeiesta Hotel has 38 Western style and Japanese style rooms, and each room has its own private toilet and hot spring water in the bath. There are also indoor hot spring baths (women's and men's baths are open from 14:00 to 9:00), and outdoor hot spring baths (women's and men's rock baths with a view of the nearby forest and are open from 14:00 to 9:00). The outdoor hot spring baths are open from the end of April to the end of November, and all baths separated by gender. Western style dinners are served to guests at Kamikochi Lemeiesta Hotel. Check-in time is from 14:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am.
