Welcome to the Izuyasu Ryokan. This Traditional Ryokan (opened in 1839 and remodeled in 2013) is perfectly located in the center of Kyoto, it takes only a few minutes by walk from the JR Kyoto train station to the ryokan. This ryokan is a real illustration of the historical ryokans in Kyoto. The ryokan staff will welcome you and make you feel comfortable in their hotel, they do speak basic English. In this ryokan guests have a chance to experience the Kyoto Kaiseki. If you want to stay in a traditional place very convenient for sight-seeing it is very good choice.

  Stayed at Izuyasu while we were in japan for 3 weeks in December 2022. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Izuyasu - the Ryokan was beautiful and maintained so well. It was near the train station too. The experience of living in a Ryokan is unique and one of its kind. The kaiseki dinner was the highlight of our evening. The breakfast was also excellent. The customer service was top notch - we had 4 large luggages by the time we made it to the Kyoto segment of our trip, and we still had further travel up north which required staying 1 night at different towns. The staff arranged to have our luggages sent to our final destination, even going to the extent of translating our destination's address from English to Japanese. Highly recommend!

  We loved staying at the Ryokan Izuyasa. The staff, particularly the breakfast servers and chefs, were so warm and accommodating. The room was a little small, but cozy. The TOTO made it for me ; ) The individual soaking rooms were so nice. Clean and private. The Kaiseki dinners were amazing. We loved every single minute and bite. It is an old inn, so floors a bit creaky, but so charming. I sat in the little area facing a beautiful interior garden and worked before breakfast, allowing my 19 yr old son to sleep in. A highlight of our trip.

  Our experience at the Ryokan Izuyasu was interesting and great. The staff were gracious and kind, and the facilities were blissfully tranquil and beautiful. It was such an opportunity to get closer to the tradicional Japanese cultura. The owner of the Ryokan Izuyasu made one of our dinner and all his explanation about his work at the Ryokan to keep the Tradition had made the experience even more interesting. We spent two nights. Most of the days out side enjoying the beautiful Kyoto. It was so nice to come back and have a hot bath before dinner. The food was fresh and masterfully prepared. Such an experience.

  Our experience at the Ryokan Izuyasu was excellent. The staff were gracious and kind, and the facilities were blissfully tranquil and beautiful. We spent most of the afternoon soaking in the large community bath, a luxurious experience only to be topped by the unforgettable dinner we later enjoyed. One of the best I ever had. The food was so fresh and so masterfully prepared. I can't say enough about how fantastic our stay here was. The quality of the experience far exceeds the price. I hope I am lucky enough to return soon.
