The Hikyonoyu is a gorgeous ryokan. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating of our requests. The rooms were spacious, very clean and beautifully arranged. The futons were a bit thin, though. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Everyone was very friendly! On our last night the fire alarm was tripped and the following morning we received a very sincere apology and a gift. This level of service was very appreciated. The onsen is so large and relaxing- the outside bath is particularly good to lose yourself in nature and soak away all woes. Iya Valley is stunningly green and a wonderful place to explore at an easy pace. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable experience!
