With cherry blossoms in full bloom and deer scattered throughout the island, Miyajima is a truly special place. Jukeiso was a wonderful stay and are family friendly. Dinners, unlike other ryokans, are taken in a common dining room, but they rotate your location and the meals (both breakfast and dinner) were fantastic reflecting both the seasonal cuisine and the local produce (needlefish sashimi and Miyajima oysters). The accomodations are Japanese (on the floor) but the rooms are large and with gorgeous views of the island and the famous floating tori gate. There is one private bath with fantastic views as well. The public bath has no views but the temp was perfect.

Absolutely beautiful. The owners do not speak much English but my daughter speaks Japanese fairly well, so this wasn't too difficult. They are very friendly. The room and the view were spectacular. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast; the only thing that marred dinner was a crying baby. This was a great experience and I would recommend wholly.

Believe all the photos you see. The short tour from the pier to the ryokan was entertaining. The staff welcoming and the room and views spectacular. Six of us shared the room for evening meal and sleeping on futon mattresses on the tatami floor. Quintessential Ryokan (including Onsen visit). Highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

Although the views were breathtaking, it was definitely the most overpriced, underwhelming and shockingly unfriendly place we stayed at in Japan. At $500 per night we experienced a room that reminded us of an interrogation suite, a bathroom that would be was a downgrade from a Motel 6 accommodation and food that although not the worst, was definitely less tasty than comperable places. There was no wi-fi connection in the whole Ryokan and apart from the room service staff, everyone was pretty unfriendly. They also put all the Japanese in one room and all the Westerners in another one for breakfast. The Ryokan was very dirty and messy. I would recommend staying somehwere else if you can.
