Welcome to Echigo Yuzawa Onsen. Echigo Yuzawa is a famous hot spring and ski resort town, and it is the location of the famous Nobel Prize winning novel by Yasunori Kawabata, "Snow Country". This onsen town was founded over 800 years ago, and many of the onsen can be found just west of Echigo Yuzawa train station. There are hot springs in almost all of the ryokan as well as in the public hot spring baths.
