Gloomy and depressing. Onsen very small, like a bathtub. Food just OK

Sapporo is a beautiful city and the Nakamuraya Ryokan a great place to stay with all the facilities you would expect. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended and if we ever return to Sapporo, I would not hesitate to book there again. Location of the ryokan is within walking distance of the train station (though you might want to take a taxi when travelling with a lot of luggage), various attractions and Odori park.

Clean and comfortable traditional inn with good sized onsen. Very close to red brick building and other attractions of Sapporo. Easy walk to train and tram for things a bit further away. Got to sample tasty Japanese dishes at breakfast

What a gem in the center of Sapporo. Friendly extremely helpful staff. Delicious traditional local food served with care in my room. The breakfast was equally as impressive the next morning on the dining room The ryokan was very clean and quiet. The shared baths were clean and so restorative after a long flight. I also found the price to be very reasonable. I couldn’t see myself staying anywhere else in Sapporo.

It was a delight to find a reasonably priced ryokan in the middle of Sapporo. The location was convenient, being next to the botanical park, and only being 10 minutes by foot from the train station, Odori Park and the Susukino district. While the meals were not as elaborate as at some more expensive ryokan, given the moderate cost of my stay the meals were way more than adequate. The dinners (served in my room) were different each of the 3 nights I was there. The internet in my room worked well. The furo (big bath) was very clean, quiet and relaxing.

Very helpful reception staff, despite our language barriers. Our late arrival and lost of direction to Ryokan, caused anxiety but the staff came to our rescued by meeting us at the junction where we were lost. My regret was not having longer stay in Nakamuraya. Only a night here thus did not get a chance to enjoy the onsen provided. Hearty breakfast was provided, with kids meal are seperately prepared. Definitely a place that well recommend to friends coming to Hokkaido Room were spacious for 2. Bathroom attached were of Japan standard. The slow drainage of the bath tub may be a concern for some, but if it is a holiday, dont rush. ;) All staff were friendly. Think only 1 or 2 staff can speak English. However it is, I wish to be here again.
